Healing begins with Acceptance
Acceptance starts at Sulag Counseling
Providing holistic,
person-centered therapy
Taking a person-centered approach, we meet each client where they are and assist them on their journey towards self-discovery and growth. Incorporating mental, emotional, and physical health, we assist clients in healing holistically.
At Sulag Counseling, we are dedicated to providing a safe and compassionate space for clients to grow in their understanding and acceptance of self - leading to healing, improved well-being, and lasting positive changes.
Meet the Counselor
Hillary Naef LPC, NCC
Hillary is a licensed mental health counselor dedicated to supporting you through many stages of life. With a compassionate, integrative approach, she weaves together evidence-based therapy with mind-body practices such as mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic healing. Her work is grounded in the belief that healing happens when the whole person is addressed - when emotional, physical, and mental well-being are all being supported holistically.
Specializing in women’s mental health, Hillary helps you navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, hormonal changes, and self-worth. She creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can reconnect with your inner wisdom, build resilience, and reclaim your sense of wholeness.
Additionally, Hillary is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help you process and release the effects of past traumas and emotional wounds. She provides a supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself, process your experiences, and find clarity and balance.
Whether you’re seeking support for healing, personal growth, or simply a deeper connection to yourself, Hillary offers a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, empathy, and acceptance.
Hillary is also a Colorado trained Clinical Supervisor and provides individual supervision to LPCC candidates. Taking a similar approach to her therapy, Hillary provides an empowering and empathic environment to help Supervisees find their therapeutic identity.
FAQs
What does Sulag mean?
Sulag is a Korean word meaning acceptance. As a mixed raced counselor, I wanted to incorporate my Korean culture into my business. Acceptance is a large component of the work I do with clients; acceptance of our circumstances, acceptance of what we cannot control, and acceptance of ourselves.
What can I expect from therapy?
Even after you have chosen to move forward with a counselor, you might have some reservations. Therapy can feel like an intimidating process, but you are not alone. Therapy is a journey you and I will take together. While I will not have answers to all your concerns, I will listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions. Your answers will then shape the direction of our work. You can expect to feel heard and respected. Additionally, you can expect to be gently challenged, as growth comes from the ability to challenge oneself.
What happens during the first session?
The initial session is an opportunity for you to tell me your story and for us to discuss your goals. This session is also a chance to evaluate if we are a good fit. One of the biggest contributions to the outcome of therapy is the therapist and client relationship. The first session is a good time to make sure you feel like I am the best therapist to help you meet your goals.
Who do you work with?
I provide online counseling for adults who reside in Colorado. My expertise is in anxiety and stress, codependency and people-pleasing, self-worth, perfectionism, perinatal mood disorders, and individuals in/previously in narcissistic relationships.
What is your rate and do you accept insurance?
My out of pocket rate is $165 per 45-50 minute session. For clients who pay out of pocket, I will happily provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. I also offer sliding scale rates to those needing it. Starting in October 2025, I will accept Colorado Aetna and Cigna insurances.
